CARBONOFF – brand identity, logo design, web design – carbon credits project
“We are a team of people passionate about innovation, but also about forests, we turn climate actions into long-term business opportunities for companies, by developing large-scale high-quality carbon sequestration projects in Europe to preserve today’s forests, which are vital for a sustainable future.”
CARBONOFF is a project at the beginning of the journey, started from the initiative of a group of Romanian entrepreneurs who want to give a different trajectory to businesses based on forests. “We want a sustainable future that we see as an economic balance, but also as a state of collaboration and harmony with nature. The power to inspire change at the regional, national, and local level is in our hands.”
CARBONOFF means a revolution in the sphere of carbon sequestration projects in Eastern Europe through the size of the projects, the holistic approach and especially through the vision – inspire change
Brief – need
In the case of CRBONOFF, the need was to create from scratch a strong, modern brand, closely linked to the idea of innovation, which would work as an inspiration in an old, outdated, “frozen” field – forest management. The new brand had to be able to generate a revolution.
About the process
Brand identity and name
We sought through various research methods to identify the specifics of two universes, on the one hand, that of forest management (which mainly refers to the cutting of forests) and that of carbon sequestration projects (which refers to the conservation of forests). At the same time, we sought to understand the dependence of local communities on forests and to think of methods by which we can propagate the change here as well.
We did the research through interviews, workshops, field trips, observation.
The name is – CARBONOFF. It expresses very well the spirit of the company and what it does. Also, it truly represents a revolution not only in the field of forest management projects, but even in the area of carbon sequestration and carbon credit management projects.
Visual identity, logo, design elements
The logo is based on the idea of ON/OFF and shows that the power is in our hands, the power to create a sustainable future. We used vibrant colors to break out of the classic scope of the forest management industry. We had to build something with a strong metaphor behind it.
UX/ UI/ Web design
The website has the role of inspiring change, of motivating the visitor to take a stand. We are targeting here several categories of the public with different needs, interests, values, but with a common concern, for a sustainable future and for the opportunities that carbon sequestration opens up.
In this case, we also went through an extensive process, we conducted interviews, we observed, we did workshops, we created Personas, we created wireframes, we tested, we created mock-ups, we tested. We usually implement, test, measure (including user behavior), and track goals (we use HubSpot).
