Otopeni House
Probably the only house in Otopeni with a story behind it
Casa Otopeni is probably the only house in Otopeni with a story behind it. Casa Otopeni isn’t just any house in Otopeni; it’s a house built to become a home.
Alexandru, a very young Romanian entrepreneur, together with an architecture firm—not just any firm, but one of the highest-rated in Romania (you’ll find its name in the brochure)—has launched a residential project in Otopeni. Their goal was to create, in the most professional way possible, a house—but not just any house, one capable of becoming a home.
Our goal (Toud) was to present their concept and highlight the benefits a family can enjoy by choosing Casa Otopeni— and a home in general — over an apartment. For this project, we created a brochure that highlights the key elements. Before designing the brochure, we developed a positioning strategy and a set of branding elements that all converge on the idea of “home.”
We were really excited about this project; we believe in it and think it’s a strong alternative to an apartment in Bucharest. Plus, the price per square meter is a major advantage. Recent studies show the importance of social life in a neighborhood of apartment buildings and within the building itself. Moreover, a number of studies in the U.S. show that single-family home developments—sprawl (very sprawling neighborhoods of single-family homes)—are not true living spaces and that they lead to unhappiness. In our case, Casa Otopeni, things are different. It’s a duplex, situated within a community where social life can flourish just as it does in an apartment building. There’s a lot to say about the project, but much of it will become clear from the brochure and the photos below.
Casa Otopeni is a story about the ideal house, which actually exists (as you can see on Ciprian Porumbescu Street) and which can become a home.
