h4l – the neighborhood that breathes life into the city
visual identity, brand strategy, and web design
h4l (home 4 life) is a new movement in Romania that promotes the idea of homes built for people and their needs. The more than 150 members of the h4l team aim to build homes that breathe life into communities, redefining the way homes are designed, built, and managed in our country. h4l Development is the company currently building 7 neighborhoods in Romania—5 in Bucharest and 2 in Brașov—with homes designed in accordance with the home 4 life movement (this movement encompasses a set of principles and commitments; read more about it here).
The brief for this project was very simple—we’re changing the standards for design, construction, and housing in Romania. Over the next four years, we’ll build more than 4,000 apartments with an investment of over 400 million euros. We need a strong brand and an impeccable image—what should we do?
For us, it was a huge challenge; we had the chance to actually play a part in creating this trend that will change the way homes look in Romania.
We began by understanding the market, people’s needs, and the values and motivations that underpin the team developing this project—symbolically named, and very much grounded in reality—“h4l development”—“home 4 life development.”
The neighborhood that breathes life into the city — keyword: simplification
For this project, we’ve spent hundreds of hours in meetings—both in person and online—with people who are looking for an apartment or a house, or with people who have already found one. We’ve spent hundreds of hours in workshops with our team and with future tenants.
We have created a visual system capable of harmoniously presenting both the first h4l neighborhoods and future neighborhoods.
Everything was designed with simplicity in mind to make life easier for people looking for an apartment.
For this project, I was involved in research, numerous workshops, brand strategy, design, visual identity design, web design, and web implementation.
The project was launched to the public in December 2020. We are currently in the testing phase, working to improve every interaction between potential and existing customers and the organization, and preparing to launch new projects.
