Pastel Chalet – website creation, the story of a Romanian tourism brand

”Pastel Chalet is the place where time stops, where you live moments for your soul”. Pastel Chalet is a story created by Enisa and Bogdan in Vama Buzaului, Ciucas National Park. A guesthouse located far away from the city noise and daily agitation, a place where you can reconnect with nature, a relaxation oasis.

We met Enisa and Bogdan back in 2016 when we made for them Timeless Story concept, camps for children and parents by Pastel Chalet, and promotion materials. Find out more about this project here.

Toud challenge was to rebuild Pastel Chalet website so it can tell the story of the place and its people. Through UI design, visual identity elements, masterfully captured photos, through their mix we had to make the visitor who reaches the website to quickly understand what Pastel Chalet is about and what are the reasons why he or she would visit the place.

Nowadays, in the century of speed, you can’t only say in words (not in many words anyhow) how great is the beauty of the place. During the website creation process, we decided to tell the story of the place through a mix of images, video, and text, being careful at the amount of text. We build a colorful website based on big blocks with images and a little text, a website that highlights the idea of experience at Pastel Chalet. 

The restaurant holds a special place in the presentation of Pastel Chalet and received a generous area on the home page. We tried to highlight the traditional dishes made with natural ingredients, healthy food, by presenting the restaurant area through suggestive big images.

We kept the menu simple and intuitive and a brightly colored footer area, in pastel shades that can be found in the logo as well. And because we focused on images, we made a gallery area divided into 4 categories: Guesthouse, Nature, restaurant, Activities. 

Pastel Chalet website was a web creation exercise, one about the essence and about how you make the things to transpose you from the first interaction into a story.
