BGF Poster – French Government Scholarships
a colorful graphic design project
Every year, the French government, through the French Institute in Romania, offers Romanian students scholarships to study in France for master’s and doctoral programs. Since 2020 was a year of change and because campaigns were mostly conducted online, the promotional materials were adapted accordingly. As a result, some of the posters that were originally prepared for print are now being used exclusively on social media and online platforms.
In 2020, in collaboration with the French Institute in Romania, we designed a poster to announce the opening of applications for scholarships offered by the French government. The brief we received from the team at the Institute with whom we collaborated on this project graphic design It was a simple one: we needed an eye-catching poster designed for the online environment, as well as materials tailored for social media. We already had an idea of how this poster had been designed in the past, so we built on the previous materials, but chose to add more color.
I used a variety of design tools to create a poster that would appeal to the target audience. After several rounds of feedback, I settled on a simple, uncluttered layout in which I used the three colors found on the French flag—red, white, and blue—to highlight the information.
