The Open Door

In September 2017, the event “The Open Door” took place in Bucharest, breathing new, bold life into Romania’s architecture and construction industry. Big ideas—from Europe and across the ocean—came to life here in Bucharest.

This is how the organizers’ promise sounded shortly before the event: “The Open Door,” the event organized by Siatec and Agta Record in Bucharest (Galateca Galleries), on September 21, is not just an event about architecture and construction; it is also an event about courage, about the freedom to create and build, about beauty, and about our lives—the lives of those of us who fill the city— because, as has often been said, architecture designs spaces for people.

And that’s exactly what happened—not only because the discussion centered on the most spectacular projects of the moment (such as the Apple Campus), but also because the professionals who design and build the spaces of tomorrow engaged with one another in an atmosphere of boldness and innovative approaches.

Toud was involved in every aspect of this event, from the concept to the organization and even the production of the book *The Open Door*. The team worked very well together, and the results were excellent.

The book *The Open Door*

For us, an important element was *The Open Door* book, which was meant to perfectly capture the concept of this event.We startedwith the idea of creating a book about change, in which we wanted to include all Record products in Romania, produced with the support of the importer Siatec (a division of the Aluterm Group).

We opted for a minimalist, symbolic design and a simple yet evocative layout.
