Romanian National Council for Refugees (RNCR) – publishing design project
The Romanian National Council for Refugees Foundation (CNRR) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1998 with the mission of promoting and defending by all legal means human rights in general and the rights of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in particular.
About collaboration and a publishing design project
The brief for this publishing design project was very clear. We had to build a layout that makes it easier to understand important information about labor law. The target audience was represented by migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Most of them speak only their native language. This material was initially created in Romanian and then translated into 6 languages: Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish, Turkish, English, and Tigrinya. From the creation of the layout phase, we took into account the complexity of translating into languages such as Arabic, Farsi, and Kurdish, where the reading and writing are done from left to right.
The project brought new experiences in the area of research, project management, and design. The challenge of creating communication elements for such special communities was a pleasant surprise for Toud team. Implementing a Kurdish or Tigrinya translation is truly a challenge. All the materials can be downloaded below.
It should also be said the RNCR team is full of life and motivated to help the communities they represent. For Toud, this project was one of those experiences that give full meaning to our existence in this guild of small branding and design agencies.
