Romanian National Council for Refugees (CNRR) – Publishing Design Project
The Romanian National Council for Refugees (CNRR) Foundation is a nongovernmental organization established in 1998 with the mission of promoting and defending, through all legal means, human rights in general and the rights of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in particular.
About Collaboration and a Publishing Design Project
The brief for this publishing design project was very clear. We had to create a layout that would make it easier to understand important information regarding labor rights. The target audience consists of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Most of them speak only their native language. This material was created in Romanian and translated into six languages: Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish, Turkish, English, and Tigrinya. Even during the layout design phase, we took into account the complexity involved in translating into languages such as Arabic, Farsi, and Kurdish—languages that are written and read from right to left.
The project provided new experiences in the areas of research, project management, and design. The challenge of creating communication materials for such unique communities was a pleasant surprise for the Toud team.
Translating content into Kurdish or Tigrinya is truly a challenge. All materials can be downloaded below. It’s also worth noting that the CNRR team is full of life and highly motivated to help the communities they represent. For Toud, this project was one of those experiences that give full meaning to our existence in this community of small branding and design agencies.
