This is the dearest area for us along with strategy. If you look through our projects you will see how much work and soul we have put in all the projects in this area. The words are useless. Our projects can speak best about us.
There would be another thing. Today, more than ever, the design is vital. It helps you to tell your story. Choose to do it with professionals.
Our activities in design area imply visual identity for brands, communication materials designed for online (covers for social media, materials for articles and posts, symbols, collages for sites, communication collages for articles or posts, presentations, infographics) or offline media (business cards design, banners, roll-ups, stands), etc.
Our projects speak best about us
Graphic design – creation of visual identity for brands, creation of communication materials
We, at Toud, divided the design activity into 4 categories:
- graphic design
- publishing design
- packaging design
- presentation design
The last 3 also contain graphic design, but the general activity is slightly different from that of graphic design. Event the software tools that we use are different.
In the graphic design activity, we are freer, we use a lot of drawing, a lot of geometric and abstract shapes, a lot of images that we edit, effects. For the graphic design, we use a lot the graphic tools from Adobe: Illustrator and Photoshop, lately even the mobile versions for tablet and mobile. With these, we can draw much easier. We also use Adobe Capture, which allows us to capture patterns, colors, geometric shapes.
In the design process, whatever it is from the ones listed above (or even the video or website ones), we start from understanding and thoroughly studying the situation. For that, we even created a guide that we use internally and that you can download from the dedicated page – 13 steps to e better design- Toud.
This first stage is the most important because depending on the understanding of the situation and the ability to empathize you will succeed or not, to create something relevant for the audience and in the limits imposed by the brief.
It is often required to create a beautiful graphic design that will please the eye. It is natural. A design must meet this requirement, but without proper anchorage in the situation, it becomes a vague requirement. What does beautiful mean? And then, what is more important, to be relevant for the audience, to generate impact or to be ”beautiful”?.
Our promise is to help you to tell your story and create an impact. We are constantly standing between the constraints imposed by the brand (vision, values, the culture of your organization), those of performance and those imposed by the expectations of the audience. This pressure always helps us to find the best way. By giving time and resources to understand these 3 elements, we manage to make that graphic design that tells the story of your organization.
At Toud, any design activity begins with an intense activity of analysis, empathy, and observation. After we find out the answers to a number of questions, by managing to correlate the solutions we move to design. This first stage is actually a stage of understanding the brief and putting it into a context.
At Toud, design means a lot of attempts. We create a number of sketches through which we try to validate ideas. Many of them fail and like that, we narrow the number until we reach 5-10 valid ideas. The numbers differ from case to case. For example, in the processes of logo design, we have reached up to 100 sketches made for one project.
After this stage, when we make sketches and validate ideas, we go back to a process of analysis and testing. During this stage, we manage to make another triage of ideas or even get new ones. But, in the end, we keep only 3 ideas.
We always want to go to the customer with a solution, not several ones. With one solution, assumed, filtered, the best from the ones we got in the creative process. There are cases when we choose 2 or 3 solutions. We usually do that when we feel that the brief could have been understood differently or it allowed a deviation.
At Toud the process of graphic design is an intense one and has a very important component of empathy, analysis, understanding the context.
